Following the screening a special Q&A time is set aside with the Gabe Videla, the Exec. Producer of The Conscientious Objector, to share Doss’s life and legacy.

LEGACY OF VALOR EXHIBIT

Visit the historic Legacy of Valor Exhibit, a prominent display of artifacts, memorabilia, photos and examples of the Heroism of the MEDAL OF HONOR. The exhibit serves as a traveling museum describing and displaying the personal acts of VALOR of the United States Military.

Silvestre Herrera Jr. -  “LEGACY OF VALOR MEDAL OF MERIT RECIPIENT” - Medal Escort

The Son of: US Army WWII Medal of Honor Recipient Silvestre Herrera Sr. , The First Medal of Honor Recipient of WWII for States of Arizona & Texas. The only Man in the World to be awarded The Medal of Honor from the United States & The Medal of Honor equivalency – “Premier Merito Militar” from the President of Mexico – President: Manuel Avila Camacho.

 

MOH Herrera, was the only one ever sanctioned by Congress & the President of The United States to wear both Medals at the same time

Desmond Doss Jr. – Son of US Army WWII Medal of Honor Recipient Desmond Doss Sr.

Mel Gibson’s WWII biopic, “Hacksaw Ridge,” tells the true story of MOH Desmond Doss, who was a conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honor. As an unarmed combat medic, MOH Doss rescued at least 75 soldiers wounded on the battlefield in Okinawa. He was twice awarded the bronze Star Medal for actions in Guam and the Philippines.

Pilar Jimenez – Sister of: USMC Vietnam Medal of Honor Recipient Jose F. Jimenez  

Jimenez' unit came under heavy attack by North Vietnamese Army soldiers concealed in well-camouflaged emplacements. Lance Corporal Jimenez reacted by seizing the initiative and plunging forward toward the enemy positions. He personally destroyed several enemy personnel and silenced an antiaircraft weapon. Shouting encouragement to his companions, Lance Corporal Jimenez continued his aggressive forward movement. He slowly maneuvered to within ten feet of hostile soldiers who were firing automatic weapons from a trench and, in the face of vicious enemy fire, destroyed the position. Although he was by now the target of concentrated fire from hostile gunners’ intent upon halting his assault, Lance Corporal Jimenez continued to press forward. As he moved to attack another enemy soldier, he was mortally wounded.
